BARBARA LEE, in 1998 was elected
to California's 9th congressional
district. From her first days in Congress she
was a leading voice in the Progressive Caucus.
While she received international acclaim as the
only member of Congress to oppose giving war
powers to President Bush immediately after
September 11th, 2001 ... she also received
death threats at home. Undaunted, she remains a
staunch advocate for peace and human rights in
the U.S. and around the
world.
